The Canadian Italian Club is a premier event venue known for delivering exceptional culinary experiences for weddings, corporate events, galas and more.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Permanent Full-Time Assistant Cook to join our dynamic event culinary team. In this role, you will help prepare and execute menus for events hosting up to 400 guests. Whether we are executing a plated dinner or managing a high-volume buffet, you will work directly with our Head Chef to ensure every dish meets our quality standards. Key ResponsibilitiesFood Preparation & Service (Plated & Buffet)
Prepare bulk ingredients for groups of up to 400 using professional slicers and mixers safely and efficiently.
Operate commercial ovens
Execute assembly-line plating
Set up and replenish buffets
Adapt to diverse schedule Kitchen Maintenance & Safety
Sanitize commercial kitchen equipment including slicers, mixers, and ovens immediately after use.
Maintain a clean workspace
Label, date, and store Job Requirements & Qualifications
Skills & Technical Experience
Equipment proficiency: Proven experience safely operating and cleaning commercial ovens, professional slicers, and large mixers.
High-volume stamina: Ability to handle the physical demands of prepping and plating for up to 400 people.
Precision and speed: Proficient knife skills
Strong teamwork. Schedule & Experience
12 years of experience in high-volume catering, banquets, or a busy restaurant setting.
Food Handler Certificate is required or willingness to obtain.
Availability: Must be available for weekend, evening, and holiday event shifts Benefits & Work Schedule
