Aerial Field Technician (Rigger)
Reports To: Foreman

Engagement: Full-Time, Project-Based (Weekly Pay)

Location: Spruce Grove, AB for base shop
(Heavy Travel Required)

About the Role
Are you mechanically inclined, physically fit, and looking to take your career to new heights? Our client is seeking 4 Aerial Field Technicians to join their Wireless Division.

In this role, you will play a critical part in building and maintaining Canada’s wireless infrastructure—working at heights, performing complex technical upgrades, and traveling across the province and country.

Advantages
Competitive Pay: $27.00 – $41.00/hr depending on experience.

Weekly Pay & Overtime: Get paid weekly, with overtime (OT) rates kicking in after 8 hours daily.

Travel Allowance: ~$200/day LOA (Living Out Allowance) provided while traveling on the road.

Boot Allowance: $200 boot allowance included.

Responsibilities

Perform tower and cell-site installation, routine maintenance, and equipment upgrades.

Handle antenna modifications and additions safely at extreme heights.

Repair or replace defective equipment located on communication towers.

Perform diagnostic tests on tower equipment to locate and resolve transmission faults.

Interpret engineered drawings, as well as fiber and DC electrical schematics.

Work safely outdoors in varying weather conditions while adhering strictly to safety protocols.

Travel extensively throughout the province and across Canada as project needs require.

Qualifications
Experience: Minimum 2 years of basic construction experience and hands-on tool manipulation.

Technical Skills:
Knowledge of OTDR test equipment and fiber fusion.
Ability to read and interpret engineered drawings, fiber, and DC schematics.
Telecom troubleshooting experience is a strong asset (preferred, not required).

Physical & Environmental: Good physical condition, comfortable working at high elevations, and willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Requirements & Compliance:
Valid Canadian Driver’s License with a clean driver's abstract.
Clean criminal record check.
Must pass Drug & Alcohol (D&A) testing as required for select job sites.
Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

Personal Attributes: Mechanically inclined, dependable, safety-focused, strong written/verbal communication skills, and a positive team attitude.
