Supervising Lawyer for Northern Legal Clinic
Okanagan Thompson Legal Clinic
Be a key player at the Northern Access Legal Clinic as a Supervising Lawyer based in Prince George, BC. Focus on client-centered legal services with a strong emphasis on human rights and employment law. As part of a new non-profit pro-bono clinic, your full-time role will include overseeing legal staffing and service delivery while addressing the needs of marginalized communities. You will report to the Executive Director, conduct client intakes, attend court, and lead public legal education initiatives. Your expertise will shape the clinic's approach in providing high-value legal services and education. Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the legal staff and supervise Articling Students
- Conduct preliminary client intake and court appearances
- Lead public legal education efforts, including webinars
- Review legal research and pleadings generated by students
- Provide services in human rights, employment, and more
- Must be a member of the Law Society of British Columbia
- Minimum of three years of relevant legal experience
- Knowledge in Human Rights and Employment Law necessary
- Asset if experienced in immigration law
- A valid Driver’s License for BC is essential
