Senior Data Engineer (Pyspark)

Accountant( Remote) 
Overview
We’re looking for an  experienced Accountant who can hit the ground running. You’ll help drive accurate, full-cycle accounting by preparing and analyzing reporting packages, completing reconciliations, and ensuring financial information is consistent, compliant, and reliable. If you’re detail-focused, proactive, and ready to contribute immediately, we’d love to hear from you.

Start Date; ASAP 
Duration: 6 months with possibility of ext or becoming perm. 
Pay rate: $30-32/ hr + HST 
Please note: This is an independent contractor role 
Location: Remote within Canada Only 

Required Skills

• Minimum 1–2 years in an accounting-related role
• High school diploma (required)
• Strong ability to compile and analyze financial information for accurate accounting entries
• Proven skill in reviewing, investigating, and correcting discrepancies to maintain consistency and accuracy
• Comfort working with financial information relating to assets, liabilities, and capital
• Experience performing reconciliations, including:
  • Bank accounts
  • Balance sheet accounts
  • Intercompany accounts
• Ability to investigate discrepancies and present solutions
• Experience supporting intercompany consolidation and monthly settlement processes
• Knowledge of and ability to maintain compliance with accounting policies, procedures, and standards (e.g., SOX, FAMM)
• Strong attention to detail—able to review, investigate, and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents, and reports
• Ability to maintain fixed assets sub-ledger and ensure fixed asset transactions are submitted to the fixed asset system on a timely basis
• Ability to prepare weekly and monthly reporting for internal and external stakeholders
• Strong communication and collaboration skills; ability to act as a subject matter expert to support internal departments
• Ability to complete ad hoc projects as required
• 1–2+ years of accounting-related experience
• Undergraduate degree in Business Administration, Finance, or related
• CPA designation or currently working toward an accounting designation
• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office (required); stronger proficiency is a plus
• Proficiency in AS400 (a plus)
