BGC Okanagan is seeking a Community Support Worker Senior. In this role, you will support the supervisor with the orientation, training, and day-to-day guidance of Community Support Workers, while helping ensure programs are delivered safely, consistently, and with a focus on participant success. You will also play an important role in the intake and onboarding process, ensuring assessments, registrations, and required documentation are completed before services begin.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

• Participates in the development, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of programs and individualized plans that meet the needs of children, youth, and families.


• Supports the orientation, training, scheduling, and day-to-day direction of Community Support Workers, including providing input into performance evaluations.


• Completes participant intake, assessment, registration, and onboarding processes and ensures required documentation is completed before services begin.


• Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates individualized plans and goals in collaboration with participants and their families.


• Maintains program participant targets by coordinating referrals, tracking placements, and supporting the onboarding of new participants.


• Maintains accurate and current participant records, including case notes, success plans, progress reviews, annual reviews, and discharge documentation.


• Supports participants in developing independence through daily living, social, behavioural, recreational, educational, and vocational activities.


• Monitors participant progress, identifies changing needs, and adjusts supports and programming as required in consultation with participants, families, and the supervisor.


• Responds appropriately to behavioural and emergency situations, follows established health and safety procedures, and administers medication in accordance with policy and training.


• Provides transportation and community-based support for appointments, activities, and services as required.


• Prepares accurate written and verbal reports and ensures all program and participant documentation meet established standards and timelines.


• Builds and maintains effective relationships with participants, families, community agencies, professionals, and other service providers to coordinate supports and connect participants with appropriate community resources.

Qualifications:

• Diploma in a related human/social service field


• One (1) year of recent related experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.


• Valid Class 5 driver’s licence


• Successful completion of Agency screening process including criminal record check.

Hours : 35 hours per week , Monday: 11:30AM – 7PM, Tuesday–Friday: 10:30AM – 6PM

Rate of Pay: $29.17 per hour
