Software Developer (Early Career)

Job Responsibility:

Cascadia is a clean-tech company and leader in the application of machine learning in the mining industry with clients spanning five continents and including some of the largest mining companies in the world. We deliver an IIOT platform that measures and reports high accuracy fuel consumption in a mining haulage environment and delivers insights to drive efficiencies in operations. We are currently recruiting for an Early Career Software Developer Developer. As a part of our agile development team you will have a direct impact on our offerings to our customers in a collaborative environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible working with C#, .NET, SQL, JavaScript, Python, and will have the opportunity to work with and learn new technologies. Additionally, we strongly encourage independent thinking and problem solving, innovation and sharing.

Key Accountabilities

· Work with senior software developers to define and document solutions

· Translate and create software code per specifications/technical requirements

· Review, test, and document software functionality

· Analyze, debug, and resolve defects and/or production issues

· Document current and future code, processes, and functionality

· Participate in code reviews

Skills:

· College diploma or University degree & Strong desire to learn

· 1+ years of professional or co-op experience with .NET development using C# and SQL

· 1+ years of professional or co-op experience with JavaScript and JS frameworks (React)

· HTML, CSS

· Excellent communication skills in English (both written & spoken)

· Version control

· Understanding of API's,

· .NET CORE (or . NET 6 and above) or Python would be a plus.

· AWS experience would be a plus

Eligibility

• The candidate must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident
• The candidate must satisfy the eligibility requirements set out by the NRC IRAP Youth Employment Program
• Candidates not eligible for this program are encouraged to consider other open positions at Cascadia Scientific.

Job Types: Full-time, ContractContract length: 8 months

Pay: $60,000.00-$75,000.00 per year
