Job Description

The Marketing Assistant (Graphic Design) will support the Durham College Student Association (DCSA) Marketing team with the creation of engaging visual content, digital communications, social media assets, and website updates.

This position is ideal for a current student looking to gain hands-on experience in graphic design and marketing in a fast-paced, student-focused environment. The successful candidate will work both independently and collaboratively to develop creative materials that follow DCSA brand standards and effectively communicate with the student community.

The successful candidate will have opportunities to contribute to a variety of projects across print, digital, social media, web, and event communications while developing their professional design and marketing skills.

Job Responsibilities

• Create engaging graphics and visual assets for various applications, including social media, websites, print materials, campaigns, and other promotional initiatives.


• Develop posters, digital advertisements, social media graphics, event materials, and other marketing collateral.


• Follow DCSA brand guidelines and help maintain consistency across all visual communications.


• Assist with translating marketing ideas and campaign objectives into effective visual content.


• Adapt existing creative assets for different platforms/formats.


• Prepare digital and print-ready files according to technical and accessibility requirements.


• Assist with photo editing, image preparation, and other visual content as required.


• Receive and incorporate feedback into design revisions.


• Manage multiple assignments and prioritize work according to deadlines.


• Support marketing initiatives and special projects as required.

Job Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student in a Graphic Design, Interactive Media Design, Marketing, or other related program during the 2026-2027 academic year.


• Experience in graphic design, digital media, marketing, or a related field is considered an asset; student and academic experience will be considered.


• Strong portfolio demonstrating creativity, design skills, and a range of visual work.*


• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects).


• Knowledge of accessibility standards for digital and print content.


• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.


• Strong organizational and time-management skills, ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.


• Willingness to learn new tools, techniques, and technologies.
