Full Stack Developer - Capital Market

A career at National Bank as a Full Stack Developer means joining a Capital Markets development team and taking ownership of applications that support traders in their daily activities.

You will work directly with traders and other Capital Markets stakeholders to understand their workflows, design effective solutions, and deliver applications from initial requirements through deployment and production support. This close collaboration will allow you to see the direct business impact of your work.

Your Role

• Partner directly with traders and other Capital Markets stakeholders to translate business needs into practical technology solutions.
• Own the complete development lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, development, testing, deployment, and production support.
• Develop and maintain reliable, scalable, high-performing full-stack applications.
• Investigate production issues, identify root causes, and proactively improve system performance and stability.
• Collaborate with developers and technology partners to continuously improve practices, code quality, and solutions.
• Share your expertise and mentor less-experienced developers.

Prerequisites

• Three or more years of professional full-stack development experience, with demonstrated experience delivering completed applications or projects.
• Strong experience developing back-end applications and services using Python.
• Proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience using React or Angular.
• Experience with relational databases; PostgreSQL is considered an asset.
• Familiarity with Git, agile practices, automated testing, and CI/CD pipelines is considered an asset.
• Experience with or interest in using approved AI development tools for coding, testing, documentation, and problem-solving is valued.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, or Kubernetes is considered an asset.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills, with a high degree of ownership and attention to detail.
• Knowledge of finance, trading, or Capital Markets is considered an asset. Curiosity and a desire to develop deeper Capital Markets expertise are highly valued.
