Senior Consultant-SOX Compliance

Position Description
We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our SOX Compliance team, responsible for executing end-to-end control testing and performing quality assurance across SOX controls.

Your future duties and responsibilities
• Execute end-to-end SOX control testing and perform QA reviews of testing activities
• Partner with assigned SBUs (1–2) and/or corporate level to coordinate sample selection and obtain required documentation
• Develop a strong understanding of control environments to effectively assess design and operating effectiveness
• Evaluate the sufficiency and appropriateness of audit evidence to support conclusions
• Identify control gaps, follow up on missing or inadequate documentation, and determine reportable exceptions
• Support interactions with external auditors, including responding to inquiries and explaining testing approach and results
• Assist the Director and team members with various ad hoc projects requiring input from the team

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance/ Accounting or in Business Administration or equivalent
• Professional accounting title CPA an asset
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Minimum of 2-3 years’ experience in SOX compliance, internal audit, or risk management
• Strong understanding of internal controls and audit methodologies
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage stakeholders and work across business units
• Strong communication skills, with experience supporting external audits considered an asset
• Knowledge of ACL an asset

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $50,000–$100,000. This role is an existing vacancy.

Job Description

• Appuyer les interactions avec les auditeurs externes, notamment en répondant aux demandes d’information et en expliquant l’approche de test et les résultats
• Assister le directeur(trice) et les membres de l’équipe dans divers projets ponctuels nécessitant la contribution de l’équipe

Required qualifications to be successful in this role
• Baccalauréat en finance, en comptabilité ou en administration des affaires, ou formation équivalente
• Titre professionnel comptable (CPA) considéré comme un atout
• Excellentes aptitudes en communication, tant à l’oral qu’à l’écrit
• Minimum de 2 à 3 ans d’expérience en conformité SOX, en audit interne ou en gestion des risques
• Bonne maîtrise des contrôles internes et des méthodologies d’audit
• Excellentes capacités d’analyse et grande attention aux détails
• Capacité à gérer les parties prenantes et à collaborer avec différentes unités d’affaires
• Solides compétences en communication; expérience en soutien aux audits externes considérée comme un atout
• Connaissance du logiciel ACL considérée comme un atout
