Staff Buyer Planner

Job Responsibility:

The Big Picture

The Staff Buyer Planner is responsible for the procurement of production parts and scheduling production for a defined group of medical devices. The Buyer Planner is responsible for maintaining appropriate levels of raw materials, which includes vendor negotiation, risk identification, and supporting non-conformances.

Your Impact Through Innovation

• Analyze data and reports using statistical techniques, and present that data as required.
• Consider the impact of documentation changes on other stakeholders and existing documentation linkages.
• Responsible for creating purchases orders to support production plans of assigned product lines while maintaining raw material and finished goods inventory to targets.
• Supporting NPI sourcing and vendor negotiations.
• Responsible for creating production plans and schedule for assigned product lines based on customer
• demand and business risk.
• Identify risk areas related to material shortages. Develop and communicate recovery plans to management
• and stakeholders.
• Identify risk areas related to production capacity. Communicate risks to management and other stakeholder teams
• Prepare information for the routine Production Meeting - report the status of inventory and production.
• Liaise with major customers and various suppliers
• Participate in the supplier performance evaluation/scorecard process.
• Lead supply chain improvement or cost saving projects (as assigned and as independently identified).
• Other duties as required.
• Comply with the Health & Safety policies of the company and inform management of unsafe working conditions.

Your Unique Expertise

Required Skills:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field of Science or equivalent level of education and work experience
• At least 5 years of purchasing/production planning experience
• Proficient in MS Office
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Good organization and time management skills
• Excellent planning skills
• Ability to communicate with all levels of management
• Highly detail oriented

Asset Skills:

• Training or certification in Supply Chain field
• At least 5 years of purchasing/production planning experience
• Experience working with ERP systems or databases
