NLHS Western Zone is seeking the services of a salaried, Family Physician to provide primary care services at the Bay St. George Medical Clinic, Newfoundland and Labrador. The position includes clinical and administrative duties involving family practice and is the hub of the Stephenville/Bay St. George Family Care Team. The Physician will work in a collaborative practice alongside other physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses and LPNs, social navigators, navigation support workers and other allied team members and may be required to provide cross-coverage for family practice services at other clinics in the area during temporary absences of other medical staff.

Additional Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will be required to participate in inpatient coverage and on-call responsibilities at Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital (STRH). This includes equitable participation in the local on-call receiving schedule, providing coverage for inpatients, admissions, and urgent consultative support as required. On-call duties are shared among the physician group and include coverage during evenings, weekends, and holidays, in accordance with departmental scheduling and operational requirements.

The regional referral centre for Western Zone is Western Memorial Regional Hospital, a 164-bed facility that provides services to a population base of approximately 80,000 people. We are affiliated with Memorial University of Newfoundland and Labrador Faculty of Medicine, and we encourage and support academic interests.

Qualifications Require : Medical Degree, eligible for licensure as a Family Physician with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Newfoundland and Labrador (CPSNL) and satisfy credentialing requirements of Western Health's Discipline of Family Practice. Minimum of 2 years experience in related work is an asset.

Remuneration : The General Practice Salary Scale ranges from $225,512.88 to $244,093.03 as outlined in the current Memorandum of Agreement (MOA). The Department of Health and Community Services in accordance with Provincial Guidelines will officially determine a Physician's step assignment with yearly progression thereafter.
