POSITION DESCRIPTION

Under the direct supervision of the Café Manager the Baker will be responsible for baking a selection of menu items to

be served at the Encore Café weekly and in the YWCA Regina Childcare Centers. The individual in this position is

responsible for the planning of baking schedule, baking all needed items, and cleaning of space when complete. The

Cafe Manager will work closely with this individual to ensure numbers of pastries satisfy the cafés and childcare center’s

needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Baking of goods for Café and childcare as directed by Director of Food Services
• Maintaining a clean and safe food service space- following all SHA regulations
• Ensure that allergy and dietary accommodations for Cafe and Childcare are strictly adhered to

Education

• Completed at least some secondary education

Experience

• Experience working in Food & Beverage service

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Self-directed, demonstrated ability to work effectively without constant and direct supervision or guidance
• Knowledge of the community systems and services as well as Trauma Informed Care would be an asset
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

ASSETS & PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Current / Valid Food Safety Certificate

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Work Environment: Preforming baking duties in a commercial kitchen environment

Physical Demands: Continuous physical movement + lifting and carrying

Schedule: 8 hours weekly - weekends
