Position Description
CGI is seeking a Junior to Intermediate Java Developer with Mobile platform experience (2 5+ years experience) to join our Vancouver based application support and enhancement team. This role combines production support, troubleshooting, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise web and mobile applications that support critical client public services.

The successful candidate will work across Java based web applications, REST APIs, and Flutter mobile applications, collaborating closely with developers, testers, business stakeholders, and client representatives to investigate issues, implement fixes, and deliver application improvements. The role provides opportunities to develop expertise in modern enterprise technologies while gaining hands on experience with operational support, incident management, application monitoring, and software delivery in a large scale production environment.

Working alongside experienced team members, you will contribute to the stability, reliability, and ongoing evolution of both web and mobile solutions through technical problem solving, feature enhancements, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement initiatives. This position will eventually participate in a shared on call rotation supporting production applications.

Your future duties and responsibilities
. Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application, integration, and production issues.
. Monitor application health, investigate incidents, and respond to technical escalations.
. Support deployments, upgrades, configuration changes, and vulnerability remediation.
. Work within ServiceNow and ITIL processes for incident, problem, and change management.

Software Development & Enhancement

. Develop and maintain Java based web applications, RESTful APIs, and Flutter mobile applications.
. Implement fixes and enhancements to meet business requirements.
. Build/Upgrade reusable components and application functionality for web and mobile platforms.
. Participate in code reviews and technical design discussions.

Quality & Delivery

. Develop and maintain automated tests.
. Collaborate with QA teams to validate fixes and enhancements.
. Support release and deployment activities.

Collaboration & Documentation

. Work with client stakeholders and team members to understand business priorities.
. Produce technical documentation, estimates, and implementation notes.
. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and operational processes.

. Experience with Flutter state management tools such as Provider, Riverpod, BLoC, GetX, or similar
. Exposure to Firebase, push notifications, analytics, or crash reporting tools
. Basic knowledge of React, React Native, JavaScript, or TypeScript, authentication flows, and backend integration
. Familiarity with native mobile development using Swift, Kotlin, SwiftUI, or Jetpack Compose
. Personal, academic, co op, or internship experience building and publishing mobile applications

Education and Certifications

. Degree, diploma, certificate, bootcamp, or equivalent practical experience in Computer Science, Software Development, Mobile Application Development, or a related field
. Flutter, Dart, cloud, Agile, or software development certifications are considered assets

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes various factors including but not limited to skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $60,000 to $120,000.
