The opportunity

The Canadian Resident Matching Service (CaRMS), located in downtown Ottawa, is seeking a Business Services Analyst to build and maintain strong partner relationships, facilitate match-related discussions, and identify partner needs that support organizational growth. This role serves as a key liaison between CaRMS and its partner organizations, ensuring alignment of objectives and fostering collaborative, value-driven opportunities.

This is a full-time, permanent, fully remote position. The successful candidate must be based in Canada and have the ability and willingness to travel as required. The language requirement for this role is bilingual (English and French). Occasional overtime may be required to meet critical deadlines.

Role and responsibilities

External Insights Gathering

  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with partner organizations and members.
  • Lead conversations with partners to understand needs, challenges, and emerging trends.
  • Represent the organization at external meetings, working groups, and industry events to strengthen relationships and gather market intelligence.

Feedback Synthesis & Translation

  • Collect, synthesize, and document partner insights in a clear, structured way.
  • Translate external feedback into evidence-based inputs that inform product discovery, prioritization discussions, and roadmap planning.
  • Identify recurring themes, unmet needs, and opportunity areas across partners and the broader market.

Internal Collaboration

  • Work closely with Product, Delivery, and Leadership to ensure partner perspectives are well understood and considered in planning and decision-making.
  • Support product teams by providing contextual insight, validation, and partner impact analysis—without owning product decisions.
  • Act as a trusted advisor by bringing stakeholder and market perspectives into cross-functional discussions.

Growth & Partnerships

  • Identify opportunities for new partnerships or enhancements that align with product direction and organizational strategy.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to leadership on partnership approaches, ecosystem positioning, and sector dynamics.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, business analysis, economics, public administration, communications or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years in external relations, stakeholder engagement, partnership development, or related roles.
  • Experience in medical education, preferably within a faculty of medicine, medical school, residency program, or related environment of the CaRMS match process and medical education landscape.
  • Experience in market analysis and relationship management.
  • Proficiency with digital collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, Asana, etc.).
  • Bilingual (English/French).

Preferred

  • Master’s degree in related discipline.
  • Credentials demonstrating competency in analytics, design thinking, business analysis.
  • Ability (or interest to learn) modern AI‑assisted design and analysis tools to structure partner. feedback, identify patterns, and produce clear, actionable insights that inform product discussions.

The successful candidate

The successful candidate brings extensive experience in external relations, partnership development, or stakeholder engagement within complex or regulated environments. They have a proven ability to build trusted, long-term relationships with partner organizations, facilitate meaningful discussions, and identify opportunities that support organizational growth and shared objectives.

They are strong communicator and collaborator who can translate partner insights, market trends, and feedback into clear recommendations for leadership. Comfortable working cross-functionally, the successful candidate is skilled at influencing without authority and aligning internal teams around partner and sector priorities.

Highly organized and results-oriented, they are adept at managing multiple initiatives in a remote-first environment and are comfortable working with data, digital tools, and collaboration platforms to inform decision-making and track outcomes.

La personne titulaire de ce poste agira à titre d’intermédiaire clé entre CaRMS et ses organismes partenaires, assurant l’harmonisation des objectifs et favorisant des occasions de collaboration axées sur la valeur.

Il s’agit d’un poste permanent à temps plein, entièrement en télétravail. La personne retenue doit résider au Canada et avoir la capacité et la volonté de se déplacer au besoin. Ce poste comporte une exigence linguistique de bilinguisme (anglais et français). Des heures supplémentaires peuvent occasionnellement être nécessaires pour respecter des échéances critiques.

Rôle et responsabilités

Collecte de renseignements externes

  • Établir et entretenir des relations de confiance avec les organismes partenaires et les membres.
  • Mener des échanges avec les partenaires afin de cerner leurs besoins, leurs défis et les tendances émergentes.
  • Représenter l’organisme lors de réunions externes, de groupes de travail et d’événements de l’industrie, afin de renforcer les relations et de recueillir des renseignements sur le marché.

Synthèse et exploitation de la rétroaction

  • Recueillir, synthétiser et consigner les renseignements des partenaires de façon claire et structurée.
  • Transformer la rétroaction externe en données probantes qui éclairent la découverte de produits, les discussions sur la priorisation et la planification de la feuille de route.
  • Cerner les thèmes récurrents, les besoins non comblés et les domaines à fort potentiel chez les partenaires et dans l’ensemble du marché.

Collaboration interne

  • Travailler en étroite collaboration avec les équipes responsables de la gestion du produit et de la livraison, ainsi que l’équipe de direction afin que les points de vue des partenaires soient bien compris et pris en compte dans la planification et la prise de décisions.
  • Soutenir les équipes responsables de la gestion du produit en fournissant un éclairage contextuel, une validation et une analyse de l’incidence sur les partenaires, sans pour autant assumer les décisions liées au produit.
  • Agir comme conseiller ou conseillère de confiance en apportant les points de vue des parties prenantes et du marché aux échanges interfonctionnels.

Croissance et partenariats

  • Repérer les occasions de nouveaux partenariats ou d’améliorations qui s’harmonisent avec l’orientation du produit et la stratégie de l’organisme.
  • Fournir à la direction des analyses et des recommandations sur les approches de partenariat, le positionnement dans l’écosystème et la dynamique du secteur.

Qualifications

Exigences

  • Baccalauréat en administration des affaires, en gestion, en analyse d’affaires, en économie, en administration publique, en communications ou autre discipline connexe;
  • Au moins cinq ans d’expérience en relations externes, en mobilisation des parties prenantes, en développement de partenariats ou dans d’autres fonctions connexes;
  • Expérience en enseignement médical, de préférence au sein d’une faculté ou d’une école de médecine, d’un programme de résidence ou autre milieu connexe lié au processus de jumelage de CaRMS et au secteur de la formation médicale;
  • Expérience en analyse de marché et en gestion des relations;
  • Maîtrise des outils de collaboration numérique (Microsoft 365, Asana, etc.);
  • Bilinguisme (anglais et français).

Atouts

  • Maîtrise dans toute autre discipline connexe;
  • Titres attestant des compétences en analytique, en réflexion conceptuelle (design thinking) et en analyse d’affaires;
  • Capacité (ou intérêt à apprendre) à utiliser des outils modernes de conception et d’analyse assistés par l’IA pour structurer la rétroaction des partenaires, dégager des tendances et produire des constats clairs et exploitables qui éclairent les discussions sur le produit.
