Job Responsibility:
We are seeking a talented and passionate Indian Curry Cook to join our team at Veranda, located in the heart of Old Port. The ideal candidate will have expertise in preparing authentic Indian curries and dishes, bringing bold flavors and culinary creativity to our menu.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook a variety of authentic Indian curries, including vegetarian, vegan, and meat-based dishes, adhering to traditional recipes and techniques.
- Develop and execute daily specials, ensuring consistency in taste, presentation, and quality.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Manage inventory, including spices, ingredients, and supplies, to ensure freshness and minimize waste.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service and timely preparation of dishes.
- Adapt recipes to accommodate dietary restrictions or customer preferences while maintaining authenticity.
- Contribute to menu planning and suggest new dishes to enhance the dining experience.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in food preparation and cooking, particularly Indian cuisine
- Strong knowledge of food safety and handling practices
- Background in restaurant and kitchen environments
- Ability to efficiently prepare and serve meals
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with meal preparation techniques and food service operations
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: From $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
