Our financial services client is seeking a Senior Software Developer IV CAD (8+ years) to build and enhance REST APIs for backend services. Join a high-impact engineering team within a leading financial services organization developing backend integrations that power critical enterprise systems.
This role focuses on designing, enhancing, and supporting REST APIs and data flows across internal and external platforms.
The position involves working across modern APIs and legacy systems, ensuring accurate transformations and resilient integrations that support key business calculations.
Must Haves
- 8+ years in backend development using Java and REST APIs
- Integration with internal/external APIs handling JSON/XML payloads
- Solid data mapping and transformation expertise
- Implementation of error handling, fallback, and retry logic
- Experience modifying legacy and batch integrations
Nice to Have
- Experience in financial services or pricing systems
- Familiarity with batch processing frameworks such as PL/SQL, schedulers, or ETL
- Understanding of API security basics (OAuth, tokens, headers)
- Exposure to cloud environments (Azure, AWS)
- Experience with high-volume transaction systems
Responsibilities
- Build and enhance REST APIs for backend services
- Integrate with internal and external APIs using JSON/XML
- Implement data mapping and transformation logic
- Develop error handling, retry, and fallback mechanisms
- Modify and extend existing legacy and batch integrations
