Registered Practical Nurse for Maternal Care
North York General Hospital
Contribute your nursing expertise at North York General as a Registered Practical Nurse in the Maternal, Newborn and Paediatric Program. Focus on Labour and Delivery and Postpartum care while collaborating with a dedicated team. In this part-time, permanent role, you'll provide essential nursing care across various clinical areas, primarily within the Labour and Delivery and Postpartum units. The position involves training as a Scrub Nurse for obstetrical surgeries and requires excellent assessment and interpersonal skills. This opportunity allows comprehensive involvement in the continuum of care from antenatal to postpartum phases while supporting a compassionate patient-centered environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care within designated clinical areas
- Support patients primarily in Postpartum and Labour & Delivery
- Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care teams
- Maintain competencies in maternal-newborn and paediatric nursing
- Function effectively as a trained Obstetrical Operating Room Scrub Nurse
- Registered Practical Nursing diploma from an accredited institution
- Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- 2-3 years of relevant postpartum and maternal-newborn experience
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Strong communication and organizational skills
