We are seeking a highly detail-oriented Senior Systems Testing/QA Specialist to lead quality assurance, test strategy execution, and defect tracking for modern enterprise digital applications. In this role, you will be responsible for creating comprehensive test plans, developing automated and manual test scripts, executing functional and system integration testing, and facilitating User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions with business stakeholders. Working closely with cross-functional development teams, you will track software defects, validate Web Services and APIs, and ensure application quality across all stages of the Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

Location: Toronto, ON (Fully Onsite – 5 days/week required)

Duration: 11-month contract.

Responsibilities
Develop and execute comprehensive test plans, detailed test scripts, test scenarios, and data sets for functional, unit, and system integration testing.

Perform end-to-end functional, regression, and integration testing on web applications, RESTful Web Services, and backend database components.

Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) initiation sessions, guiding business stakeholders through test execution and feedback gathering.

Log, track, prioritize, and manage software defects, change requests, and resolutions using collaborative tracking platforms.

Validate application interfaces built with web technologies, SharePoint, .NET frameworks, HTML, and JavaScript.

Collaborate closely with software developers, business analysts, and project leads to communicate defect status and drive timely resolutions.

Participate in knowledge transfer activities, maintaining updated QA documentation, test metrics, and operational runbooks.

Qualifications
Defect Lifecycle Management: 7+ years of hands-on experience utilizing collaborative tools to log, prioritize, track, and manage software defects and change requests (Strictly Required).

Test Plan & Script Engineering: Demonstrated expertise in developing comprehensive test plans, test scripts, and test data for complex software applications (Strictly Required).

UAT Facilitation: Proven experience leading User Acceptance Testing (UAT) sessions and guiding non-technical business stakeholders (Strictly Required).

Web & API Technical Testing: Hands-on experience testing web applications built on technologies such as .NET, SharePoint, Web Services, HTML, and JavaScript (Strictly Required).

SDLC & Test Tracking Tooling: Complete working knowledge of all SDLC phases and hands-on experience with tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps Boards, or Asana (Strictly Required).

Nice-to-Have Assets:
Previous experience conducting software quality assurance or systems testing within a public sector or broader public sector environment.

Knowledge or experience with automated testing tools, performance testing, and code version control systems.
