Position: Occupational Therapist (OT) Clinical Services

Location: Oakville, ON

Contract with potential for Permanent hire

On site, Full Time

Primarily 8:00-4:30 Monday-Friday core hours, with one evening per week period and one Saturday per 6 weeks

Salary: $40.31 - $47.75 per hour (40-hour work week)

Reporting to the Director, Clinical Supports & Treatment you will

• This role allows you to make an impact on the lives of people and their families by delivering services they need when they need it.
• Work in partnership within an integrated model of care with person supported, their families and the interdisciplinary care team, you can shape overall holistic care plan for persons supported.
• You can contribute to building capacity to better support individuals with developmental disabilities who have complex care needs through care delivery, education
• Develop person-centred care plans to facilitate functional activities and independence in daily living skills, such as mobility, handling and positioning, feeding, dressing, grooming, perceptual motor development, prescribing assistive devices and adaptive equipment when indicated.
• Completing assessments; providing knowledge & training to direct support professionals, care providers, families in complex care situations.
• Deliver interventions to individuals who present with a range of skills, levels of functioning, and ages holistically.
• Contributes as an active member of the interdisciplinary care team to collaboratively achieve care goals using a holistic approach to care that considers a person’s supported medical, functional, societal participation, quality of life and mental well-being.
• Providing supervision to Occupational Therapy Assistants, students or others as assigned
• Skilled with adaptive equipment focus, harnesses for developmental disabilities, sensory processing assessments
• Develop and implement direct and indirect intervention plans.
• Complete assessments, provide treatment and provide subsequent service referrals/recommendations, as appropriate.

Are you qualified?

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy
• At least 2 years experience as an OT
• Current registration with the College of Occupational Therapist of Ontario
• Mandatory membership and licensure with Ontario Society of Occupational Therapists, Canadian Association of Occupational Therapist
• Experience in developmental services/mental health, interdisciplinary model familiarity, Ontario Assistive Devices Program authorization (asset)
• Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
