Pharmacy Assistant

Lovell Drugs Grandview is looking for a Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team in Oshawa, Ontario.

Compensation listed is a starting point only and will be determined based on the candidate's experience.

Patient Focused Care Responsibilities

• Support pharmacists and pharmacy technicians in providing high-quality patient care
• Greet customers and answer phone calls in a professional manner
• Assist with entering, labelling, and packaging prescriptions under the supervision of a pharmacist or pharmacy technician
• Accurately count, measure, and package medications according to established protocols
• Receive and stock medication and supply shipments, monitor inventory levels, rotate stock, and support inventory audits
• Keep the pharmacy area clean and organized; safely dispose of expired medications and hazardous waste in accordance with regulations
• Perform clerical tasks such as filing, faxing, scanning, and assist with insurance claims and prescription transfers
• Assist with daily pharmacy operations and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 to 3 years of experience as a Pharmacy Assistant in a retail pharmacy with a preliminary understanding of the pharmacy business.
• Proficiency with Kroll, along with a high level of accuracy and efficiency in prescription data entry, is required.
• Completion of a pharmacy assistant program is an asset.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a team environment
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Ability to stand for long periods and occasional lifting of boxes/containers
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed

Schedule

• 40 hours per week (Full-time).
• The store operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
• Shifts are typically scheduled in the morning or evening, with weekend shifts being occasional.
