As we continue to grow, we are seeking a highly capable Senior Accountant (internally titled Senior Financial Analyst) to join our team. This role is ideal for an experienced finance professional who thrives in a client-facing environment, enjoys ownership of complex reporting and forecasting responsibilities, and brings both analytical rigor and business insight to every engagement.

Duties And Responsibilities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Lead weekly and monthly financial reporting engagements for clients, ensuring accuracy and providing meaningful financial insights.
• Prepare and present monthly financial statements and executive-level financial commentary.
• Drive forecasting activities, including identifying and explaining complex variances to budget.
• Develop and monitor KPIs, dashboards, and operational metrics to guide strategic decision-making.
• Create advanced financial and operational reports that support executive leadership.

Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting

• Assist with preparation of annual budgets, independently developing assigned sections.
• Perform detailed variance analysis of actuals to budget and forecast.
• Support capital evaluation and capital spend forecasting initiatives.

Accounting & Compliance

• Research and apply appropriate accounting treatments for transactions.
• Ensure accurate recording of transactions, including vendor invoices, reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
• Oversee and support accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and source deductions.
• Prepare and remit HST and payroll-related filings.
• Participate in process reviews and internal control improvements.

Client Engagement

• Lead client engagements independently with professionalism and accountability.
• Develop a strong understanding of client operations and financial objectives.
• Build long-term, strategic partnerships with clients.
• Provide ad-hoc financial analysis to support client decision-making.
• Utilize strong communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.

Systems & Continuous Improvement

• Collaborate with software providers to enhance financial and operational reporting systems.
• Identify and lead process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Participate in systems implementation and optimization initiatives.

Leadership

• May oversee junior staff or interns.
• Model professionalism, accountability, and high-performance standards within the team.

Qualifications

• CPA designation.
• 5+ years of experience in the preparation and analysis of financial statements.
• Proven ability to manage all aspects of A/R, A/P, and G/L, including reconciliations.
• Strong analytical decision-making and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate at all organizational levels.

• Starting Salary: $70,000-$90,000.
