The City of Iqaluit is looking for a City Planner to join our team!

The City Planner is responsible for municipal planning activities. In this role they will implement the General Plan, Zoning By-law and other policies. The City Planner will contribute to and oversee both long-term strategic planning and urban development.

Required Education and Experience
Minimum Level of Education/Training:

• University Degree in Urban and Regional Planning or related field
• ·APPI/CIP Membership preferred Candidate members will be considered

Minimum Level of Experience:

• 3 years of experience in Municipal or Development Planning Experience in adjacent planning specializations will be considered.

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license

Indigenous Language:

• Preferred

L’urbaniste est chargé des activités d’urbanisme d’une ville. Dans le cadre de ses fonctions, cette personne mettra en œuvre le plan d’aménagement, le règlement de zonage et d’autres politiques. L’urbaniste contribuera à la planification stratégique à long terme et au développement urbain, et en assurera la supervision.

Formation et expérience requises
Niveau minimum d’études/de formation :

• Diplôme universitaire en urbanisme, en aménagement régional ou autre domaine connexe
• Adhésion en règle APPI/CIP, un atout

Niveau minimum d’expérience :

• Minimum de trois (3) années d’expérience en urbanisme ou en aménagement du territoire. Une expérience dans des domaines connexes de l’urbanisme sera prise en compte.
