The City of Iqaluit is looking for a Jr GIS / Planning Technician to join our team!

Reporting to the Director of Planning & Development, the Junior GIS/Planning Technician is responsible for supporting the design, management, analysis, and functionality of spatial and relational data related to municipal land, community planning, and civil works. Additionally, they will assist Senior Community Planners in various planning tasks, including community engagement, strategic planning, development facilitation, and compliance review.

Required Education and Experience
Minimum Level of Education/Training:

• Possess a 2-year diploma in Environmental Technology, Public Policy, Geographic Information Systems, or equivalent
• A Class 5 Driver’s License

La Ville d’Iqaluit est à la recherche d’une personne pour pourvoir un poste de technicien(ne) junior en SIG et en urbanisme pour se joindre à son équipe.

Sous la responsabilité du directeur de la planification et de l’aménagement, le technicien subalterne en SIG et en aménagement est chargé de soutenir la conception, la gestion, l’analyse et la fonctionnalité des données spatiales et relationnelles relatives aux terrains municipaux, à l’aménagement de la collectivité et aux travaux de génie civil. De plus, la personne à ce poste assistera les principaux urbanistes de la municipalité dans le cadre de diverses tâches relevant de l’aménagement, notamment la mobilisation de la communautaire, la planification stratégique, la facilitation du développement et l’examen de la conformité.

Formation et expérience requises
Niveau minimum d’études/de formation :

• Avoir un diplôme en technologie environnementale, en politiques publiques, en systèmes d’information géographique ou l’équivalent depuis deux ans
• Être titulaire d’un permis de conduire de classe 5
