Scientist, Process Development

This role develops chemical manufacturing processes for drug substances, involving laboratory experimentation, route optimization, and process scaling. The scientist collaborates across functions to advance production knowledge and supports clinical and commercial manufacturing while maintaining regulatory and safety standards. A PhD in organic chemistry or related field is strongly preferred, with experience in multi-step synthesis, scale-up, and analytical techniques.

Responsibilities

• Develop chemical manufacturing processes for drug substances
• Plan, execute, and analyze laboratory experiments for production and quality advancement
• Propose alternative chemistry approaches including new route selection and optimization
• Prepare technical documentation including process development reports and batch records
• Collaborate with analytical chemistry, quality assurance, and manufacturing teams on project goals

Requirements

• PhD in Organic Chemistry or related discipline strongly preferred
• MSc/BSc degree with extensive pharmaceutical industry experience
• Experience planning and executing multi-step organic synthesis
• Proficiency with purification and analytical techniques including HPLC, LCMS, NMR
• Demonstrated ability to scale synthetic routes and develop safe processes
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Organizational and project planning abilities
