Job Description

We invite you to join the world of hospitality at Sheraton Suites Calgary Eau Claire as our new Club Lounge Attendant. The Club Lounge Attendant plays a key role in ensuring comfort is taken to the next level for our guests who have exclusive access to the Club Floor. Through care, attention to detail and personalized service, the team focuses are creating memorable experiences and a sense of loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Service and Lounge Experience

• Consistently provide professional, friendly, and engaging service to all guests.
• Deliver a warm and personalized welcome, creating a memorable experience.
• Assist guests with food and beverage selections by providing knowledgeable recommendations based on menu offerings, dietary requirements, and personal preferences.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of all food and beverage items, including ingredients, preparation methods and garnishes.
• Anticipate guest needs, personalize service, and build meaningful guest relationships to encourage loyalty and repeat visits.
• Handle guest requests, concerns, and feedback in a calm, courteous, and professional manner, ensuring timely resolution.

Food and Beverage Service

• Set up, maintain, and break down all food and beverage presentations, including breakfast, coffee & tea service, evening canapés, bar service, and other lounge offerings.
• Ensure proper sequence of service is followed in accordance with service standards.
• Serve food and beverages with attention to detail, presentation, and timing.
• Proactively refresh buffet presentations, replenish food and beverage items, and ensure products remain fresh, attractive, and available throughout each service period.
• Clear and reset guest tables promptly while maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the lounge, service stations, buffet displays, and heart-of-house service areas.
• Collaborate closely with Culinary and Stewarding teams to ensure seamless food and beverage service throughout the day.
• Identify opportunities to enhance the guest experience through thoughtful recommendations and personalized service.

Operational Excellence

• Ensure smooth transitions between all daily food and beverage presentations while maintaining the appropriate ambiance and presentation standards.
• Accurately process food and beverage orders and maintain guest checks using the point-of-sale (POS) system when required.
• Complete opening, closing, and side duties efficiently and according to established standards.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked lounge environment, ensuring all supplies and service equipment are readily available.
• Monitor lounge presentation, décor, and cleanliness to consistently reflect luxury hospitality standards.
• Assist with inventory replenishment and communicate supply needs to leadership as required.

Team Collaboration

• Work closely with Food & Beverage colleagues, Culinary, Stewarding, and Front Office teams to ensure exceptional guest experiences.
• Communicate effectively with team members regarding guest preferences, VIP arrivals, dietary requirements, and operational updates.
• Foster positive working relationships across departments that support Club Lounge operations.
• Contribute to a positive, professional, and collaborative team environment.
• Participate in training sessions and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service standards.

Safety and Compliance

• Follow all health, safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures in accordance with hotel and regulatory standards.
• Ensure responsible service of alcohol in accordance with provincial regulations.
• Adhere to all hotel policies, procedures, and luxury service standards.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment for both guests and colleagues.

Qualifications

• Valid ProServe certification required.
• Proven ability to multitask, take initiative, and problem-solve in a fast-paced hospitality environment.
• Demonstrated ability to anticipate guest needs and deliver highly personalized service.
• Highly responsible, reliable, detail-oriented, and self-motivated.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Previous food and beverage service experience in a hotel, restaurant, club lounge, or comparable hospitality environment is preferred
• Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift in a fast-paced hospitality environment including guest rooms across multiple floors and hotel areas as requested.
• Frequent lifting and carrying of trays, dishes, food and beverage items, and service equipment.
• Ability to safely maneuver throughout the lounge and hotel while carrying multiple items.
• Physical stamina and dexterity required to maintain exceptional service standards during busy service periods.
• Ability to bend, reach, lift, and perform repetitive movements associated with food and beverage service.
