Senior Manager, Finance Advisory Services (Vancouver)

We are seeking a Senior Manager, Finance Advisory Services to take full ownership of complex, high‑stakes client engagements from ERP transitions and post‑acquisition integrations to finance team restructurings and audit readiness programs.

Scope of Work

Senior Manager, Finance Advisory Services responsible for leading complex, high‑stakes client engagements, including ERP implementations & transitions, post‑merger integrations, payroll transitions, finance reorganizations, and audit readiness & finance clean‑up.

Engagement Types

• ERP Implementations & Transitions – end‑to‑end implementation and system migrations, managing workstreams across finance, IT, and operations.
• Amalgamations & Acquisitions – post‑merger integrations and entity amalgamations, including transitioning incumbent finance teams, harmonizing processes, and ensuring continuity.
• Payroll Transitions – migrations between payroll platforms, coordinating HR, finance, and vendor teams for accurate, uninterrupted pay runs.
• Finance Reorganizations – assessing finance team structures, identifying gaps, and delivering actionable redesign and right‑sizing recommendations.
• Audit Readiness & Finance Clean‑Up – remediating disorganized or non‑compliant finance functions, reconciliations, process documentation, and internal controls clean‑up.

Responsibilities

Client Engagement & Relationship Management

• Serve as the senior point of contact for a portfolio of clients, managing expectations and communications independently.
• Build trusted advisor relationships with CFO, VP, and Director level stakeholders.
• Lead client meetings, status updates, and executive presentations with confidence and clarity.
• Proactively identify risks and opportunities within engagements and communicate them effectively.

Project & Delivery Management

• Own end‑to‑end project timelines, work plans, and milestone tracking across concurrent engagements.
• Manage and coordinate billable staff to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Develop and maintain project status reports, dashboards, and deliverable trackers.
• Drive accountability across cross‑functional teams, removing blockers and keeping work moving.

Finance Operations & Engagement Delivery

• Lead ERP implementations and system transitions, defining scope, coordinating workstreams, managing data migration and cutover planning.
• Oversee post‑merger and amalgamation engagements, assessing and transitioning incumbent finance teams, harmonizing charts of accounts, policies, and reporting structures.
• Coordinate payroll transitions from scoping through go‑live, validating data integrity, and ensuring uninterrupted pay runs.
• Conduct finance team assessments and deliver recommendations for right‑sizing, redesign, or process improvement.
• Lead audit readiness and finance clean‑up engagements, remediating reconciliations, documenting processes, establishing internal controls.
• Review and QA all work produced by junior and intermediate staff before client delivery.

Team Resourcing, Management & Coaching

• Assess engagement requirements and match appropriate staff levels.
• Monitor team capacity and utilization, flagging resourcing gaps or conflicts.
• Provide direct coaching and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff, actively supporting professional development.
• Conduct regular check‑ins, provide timely feedback, and ensure staff have clear direction.
• Contribute to internal knowledge‑sharing and continuous improvement.

Automation & AI

• Leverage AI tools to improve the efficiency and quality of financial analysis, reporting, and project documentation.
• Identify and implement process automation opportunities within client finance functions.
• Help spearhead internal systems and process improvement initiatives with an AI‑first mindset.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3 years in a client‑facing or consulting capacity.
• Hands‑on experience with ERP implementations, M&A or integration, payroll transitions, finance team restructurings, or audit readiness engagements.
• Prior experience at a Big4 firm or equivalent management consulting workplace is a strong asset.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects end‑to‑end: planning, resourcing, execution, client reporting.
• Proven track record managing and developing junior staff in a billable environment.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with executive‑level presence.
• High degree of autonomy; comfortable owning client relationships with minimal escalation.
• Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with ERP systems such as QBO, Sage, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite.
• Familiarity with project management tools (MS Project, Asana, Monday.com, etc.).
• Experience preparing client‑facing deliverables including board decks, financial reports, and project updates.
• CPA, CFA or equivalent – preferred.
• Industry experience in technology companies or financial services – preferred.
• Familiarity with billable hour environments and utilization‑based performance metrics.
• AI‑first mindset; actively use AI tools daily.
