MEDICAL MANUFACTURING TECHNICIAN

We are a small company in New Westminster, and need a creative fabricator that can work with various materials as well as learn to do a variety of skills and tasks to support our technicians in the field, and manufacture our unique products.

We work with wood, metal, plastics, foam, fabric and other materials to make custom support equipment for children and adults with disabilities. Your skills and aptitude are essential, but also your attitude, ethics and personal integrity are very important to us and our clients, and the medical professionals we work with.

Below is a list of “minimum requirements for the job, and then “Skills,” and “Tasks.” You may not have all of these skills, but we would like to know what you can do currently, and what you would be interested in learning:

SKILLS WE USE

· woodwork

· metalwork

· welding

· upholstery

· industrial sewing

· plastics forming

· plaster molding

· spray booth

· CNC plywood machining

· general mechanical skills

TASKS WE HAVE

· setup, adjustment and repair of manual and power wheelchairs

· manufacturing and customization of special physical supports

· custom work with wood, metal, plastics and fabrics

· parts and inventory monitoring

· equipment traffic and storage assistance

· receiving

· operating 1 ton mobile workshop vehicles

· delivery and setup of equipment at homes and institutions

· shop and premises cleaning and maintenance

· garbage and recycling

OTHER ABILITIES THAT WOULD BE HELPFUL:

· Microsoft Word and Excel

· Solidworks or other design programming

· database familiarity

· supervisory experience

· first aid

· forklift operation

REMUNERATION:

· full-time permanent position, Monday to Friday, daytime

· training and orientation provided

· Starting at $45k - $60k for right person, depending on skills, training and experience
