Senior Account Manager Freight Brokerage

Our client is a fast-growing North American freight brokerage providing over-the-road transportation solutions for customers across Canada and the U.S.

The company supports businesses moving products across industries including food and beverage, steel, building materials, and other commercial freight categories.

As the organization continues to expand, they are looking for an experienced Senior Account Manager / Freight Broker who knows how to build business, develop relationships, and turn new accounts into a profitable long-term portfolio.

The Opportunity

This is a full-cycle freight sales role focused on developing net-new enterprise accounts across North America.

You'll be responsible for identifying opportunities, prospecting decision-makers, earning their trust, closing new business, and continuing to grow the account after the initial sale.

The company is looking for someone who enjoys the hunt, knows the freight market, and wants to build a meaningful book of business.

What You'll Do

• Prospect and develop net-new B2B and enterprise accounts across North America.
• Identify and engage key decision-makers, including Transportation Managers, Logistics Managers, Procurement leaders, Supply Chain leaders, VPs of Purchasing, and C-level contacts.
• Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and outreach through discovery, quoting, negotiation, closing, and account development.
• Develop relationships with customers and identify opportunities to expand existing business.
• Sell freight solutions across relevant transportation modes, including TL, LTL and over-the-road freight .
• Use CRM and prospecting platforms such as HubSpot and ZoomInfo to manage pipeline and lead-generation activity.
• Maintain consistent follow-up across longer sales cycles and multiple customer touchpoints.
• Work closely with operations to ensure new accounts are successfully supported after closing.
• Meet clients in person when appropriate to strengthen and expand key accounts.
• Consistently build pipeline, gross profit, and revenue.

The client's existing role profile notes that enterprise deals can require 7+ touchpoints to close , so persistence and disciplined follow-up are important parts of the role. 

What We're Looking For

• Ideally 2+ years of freight sales / freight brokerage experience .
• Experience with non-asset-based freight brokerage strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated success generating net-new business.
• Experience managing a full B2B sales cycle.
• Knowledge of North American transportation and freight.
• Strong prospecting, negotiation, relationship-building, and closing skills.
• Comfortable working independently and managing your own pipeline.
• Confident, outgoing, energetic, and highly motivated.
• Strong communicator who can build credibility with senior decision-makers.
• Competitive, persistent, coachable, and commercially driven.
• An entrepreneurial mindset — someone who views their portfolio as a business within a business .
• Must be legally authorized to work in Canada. Employer sponsorship is not available for this position.

Compensation

Base Salary: $65,000–$90,000 CAD , depending on experience and existing production.

Commission: Approximately 10% standard commission , with additional flexibility for highly experienced producers.

For an experienced freight broker with an established book of business or the ability to generate revenue quickly, the company is open to discussing a stronger compensation structure and higher commission potential.

Established performers can reasonably build toward approximately $120,000–$140,000+ in total annual earnings, depending on production.

Location & Work Arrangement

Candidates can be located anywhere in Canada , although there is a preference for candidates in the Greater Toronto Area who can work on a hybrid basis.

The company is open to flexibility for experienced freight professionals who can demonstrate strong production and the ability to perform independently.

Candidates must already have legal authorization to work in Canada, as employer sponsorship is not available for this opportunity.
