Parts Specialist

Alta Material Handlingis seeking a full-time Parts Clerk for our material handling group at our Québec City Quebec location. The main responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:Process parts purchases and salesActively sell parts and upsell when appropriateEnsure profit levels meet department targetsMaintain customer satisfaction including internal customersInspect unpack and organize incoming partsPick pack and prepare parts for deliveryMaintain cleanliness and organization of the departmentParticipate in physical inventory countsIncorporate Altas core values into daily activitiesPerform other duties as assignedMaintain consistent regular and reliable attendance including being ready to work at the scheduled timeQualifications:Minimum of one year of experience in parts (preferred)Bilingual in French and English (optional)High school diploma or certificateStrong communication skills and professionalism requiredKnowledge and understanding of profit margin and gross marginGood telephone etiquetteBasic mechanical understanding and ability to visually identify and name equipment parts related to the industryComputer skills: Microsoft Word Excel Outlook Epicor/Silk systems supplier web portalsLanguage skills basic: Ability to read and understand simple instructions short correspondence and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; ability to effectively present information in one-on-one or small group settings to customers and other employeesBasic math skills: Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and multiply/divide by 10 and 100; ability to perform calculations using U.S. currency and measurements of weight volume and distanceReasoning ability basic: Ability to apply common sense to carry out detailed but uncomplicated written or oral instructions; ability to deal with a few concrete variables in standardized situationsPhysical Requirements / Work Environment:Physical/Sensory Functions: Regular use of hands; frequent sitting; occasional standing walking reaching bending kneeling crouching or crawling; frequent speaking and hearingVision: Close and distance vision depth perception ability to adjust focus and distinguish colorsLifting/Moving: Frequently lift up to 25 lbs; occasionally lift from 26 up to over 100 lbsWork Environment: Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts
