We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated

AI & Business Process Automation Summer Student to support our Finance and Human Resources teams by identifying opportunities to automate manual processes, improve reporting, and leverage Artificial Intelligence tools to increase efficiency.

Position Summary

The AI & Business Process Automation Summer Student will work closely with Finance, Human Resources, and Operations staff to review existing spreadsheets, reports, and administrative processes. The successful candidate will help identify inefficiencies, research AI-powered solutions, and assist in developing automated workflows and tools that reduce manual effort and improve accuracy.

This position offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience applying AI technologies and automation tools in a real-world business environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and document existing Finance and HR processes and workflows.
• Analyze spreadsheets, reports, and recurring administrative tasks to identify automation opportunities.
• Assist with the development of automated spreadsheets, templates, and workflows.
• Research and test AI tools that can improve business efficiency and productivity.
• Support the implementation of process improvements using Microsoft 365 tools, Power Automate, Copilot, ChatGPT, and other approved technologies.
• Create documentation and user guides for new automated processes.
• Assist with data organization, validation, and reporting activities.
• Present findings and recommendations to management throughout the work term.
• Perform other administrative and project-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong interest in Artificial Intelligence, automation, business processes, or technology.
• Currently enrolled in or recently completed studies in Business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Human Resources, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and work independently.
• Experience with Power Automate, Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, programming, or data analysis tools is considered an asset but is not required.

Eligibility Requirements

This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Program . To be eligible, applicants must:

• Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment.
• Be legally entitled to work in Canada.
• Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or a person granted refugee protection under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act.
• Have a valid Social Insurance Number and be legally entitled to work according to provincial legislation and regulations.
