Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A (3-Month Contract)

Location:

Toronto, ON ( Hybrid – 1–2 days onsite )

Compensation:

$50–$60/hour CAD (dependent on experience)

The Client:

Our client is seeking a highly analytical and driven Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A to join their finance team on a 3-month contract basis . This role plays a critical part in supporting financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and business performance analysis across the organization.

The successful candidate will partner closely with operational and P&L leaders to provide financial insights, challenge assumptions, and proactively identify opportunities to improve profitability and achieve business objectives. What you will achieve in this role:

• Support the annual budgeting process by collaborating cross-functionally with business leaders and challenging assumptions based on trends, business performance, and profitability goals

• Build and maintain accurate forecasts with input and alignment from key stakeholders and leadership teams

• Analyze and communicate business financial performance through monthly and quarterly variance analysis (actuals vs. budget and forecast), including root cause analysis and actionable recommendations

• Prepare and deliver monthly management reporting, including revenue, cost, profitability, headcount bridges, and key business metrics

• Identify opportunities for process improvement and challenge the status quo to improve efficiency, reporting quality, and overall value-add to business leaders

• Provide financial analysis and support for business cases, ensuring growth initiatives are financially sound and aligned with leadership expectations

• Monitor actual business case performance against forecasts to identify learnings and improve future decision-making

• Support financial transparency and decision-making by ensuring financial data is communicated effectively to drive margin growth and operational performance

• Assist with month-end close activities and quarterly reporting requirements as needed

• Lead and participate in special projects and ad hoc financial analysis to support North American operations

• Demonstrate flexibility and adaptability by supporting additional finance initiatives and evolving business priorities

What you must bring to this role:

• 3+ years of experience in accounting, finance, FP&A, or related financial analysis roles

• Strong experience with forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis

• Ability to think critically and challenge assumptions to improve financial outcomes and business performance

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and implement practical solutions

• Experience preparing and analyzing financial reports, reconciliations, and management reporting packages

• Strong understanding of accounting systems and financial processes

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and strong working knowledge of MS Office tools

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to partner cross-functionally

• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines

• Highly collaborative with strong interpersonal skills and a proactive mindset

• CPA, CA, ACCA designation or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Management preferred
