Carmacks Development Corporation

The Chief Executive Officer provides strategic leadership and operational oversight for Carmacks Development Corporation, the economic arm of the Little Salmon Carmacks FN (LSCFN). This role is responsible for advancing the corporation’s mission to foster sustainable, community-driven economic development. The CEO guides long-term planning, ensures strong organizational performance, and builds meaningful partnerships that support the prosperity of the Carmacks community

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic planning and organizational direction.
  • Oversee financial management, budgeting, and long-term sustainability.
  • Strengthen relationships with community members, government partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Ensure effective operations across all business units and initiatives.
  • Support governance processes and maintain strong collaboration with the Board of Directors.
  • Identify, evaluate, and pursue economic development opportunities that benefit the Carmacks community.
  • Represent the corporation in public, governmental, and industry settings.
  • Education: Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Economics, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience: 10+ years of senior executive leadership, ideally within an Indigenous Economic Development Corporation.
  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation, financial modeling, and cross-cultural communication. Deep understanding of the Yukon socio-economic landscape. Strong communication, negotiation, and relationship-building abilities to include: Ability to make informed decisions, excellent detail-orientated and organizational skills, task delegation, and prioritization skills.
  • Integrity, sound judgment, and professionalism.
  • Cultural awareness and respect for Indigenous values and traditions.
  • Strategic thinker with a collaborative leadership style.
  • Commitment to community prosperity and sustainable development.

Qualifications
