Become a pivotal Senior Environmental Advisor at the Mackenzie Valley Land and Water Board in Yellowknife. Leverage your expertise in environmental management to assess submissions and influence land use decisions. This indeterminate role seeks an experienced professional well-versed in environmental management. You will critically evaluate complex technical submissions and foster collaboration with First Nations and other stakeholders. Your work will be essential in ensuring informed decision-making that prioritizes Indigenous perspectives and environmental sustainability. Key Responsibilities:
- Critically evaluate and assess technical submissions thoroughly
- Liaise with First Nations and other key stakeholders
- Prepare comprehensive recommendations for Board decisions
- Manage time-sensitive projects and communications effectively
- Enhance transparency in environmental regulatory processes
- Master's degree in environmental management or related field
- Several years of hands-on experience with regulatory systems
- Strong understanding of northern Indigenous cultures
- Excellent technical writing and communication skills
- Effective project and time management capabilities
