The Manager, Risk Management is accountable for executing on the agency’s risk management portfolio to enhance quality care, to minimize loss and other detrimental effects to the organization, its clients, visitors, staff and affiliates, to measure risk opportunities and to proactively protect the CMHA TVAMHS reputation and assets (including people, reputational, property and financial). This includes supporting the organization’s commitment in complying with relevant legislative and regulatory requirements.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:

• What you'll be making - $44.68-$45.52 per hour
  • The above are initial rates; with grid increases per policy
  • Internal staff members will be placed on the appropriate grid level based on their current rate of pay, up to Level 7 of the grid (see Intranet Policy)
• When you'll work - 70 hours biweekly; Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30pm
• Your pension plan –Immediately enrolled in the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan (HOOPP)
• What your benefits will be – After a 90-day waiting period, will be enrolled in extended healthcare benefits

HOW YOU WILL BE MAKING A DIFFERENCE:

• Evaluates short and long term organizational wide needs and in alignment with the organization’s Enterprise Risk Management Plan and Strategy
• Prioritizing risks and developing practical and achievable improvement plans
• Analyzes trends, operational practices and governance structures
• Communicating risk issues to both clinical and non-clinical audiences.
• Conducts risk assessments, and advises the business on risk controls
• Promotes a risk-aware culture through training, communication and best practices.
• Enterprise risk management: support ERM framework; facilitate risk identification and mitigation; maintain corporate and departmental risk registers; prepare risk reports for leadership
• Compliance and governance: support policy development, internal audits, and compliance assessments
• Procurement support: assist with RFPs, RFQs, vendor evaluations, and procurement documentation including Memorandum of Understanding
• Reporting and analysis: develop dashboards and briefing materials; analyze trends and risk data; prepare recommendations
• Works with the Director of Enterprise Risk Management to develop new initiatives to support the strategic direction the organization and initiatives that contribute to enterprise risk management
• Learn to grow and build a culture of continuous improvement and creativity aimed at innovation and system change
• Collaborate with internal peers and influence program decisions regarding risk management
• Develop and deliver timely communication within the department, program and internal stakeholders
• Provide risk management support and insight into significant program changes
• Acts as organizations subject matter expert in enterprise risk management
• Supports the implementation of an enterprise-wide risk management framework/model and associated reporting requirements in collaboration with the Director of ERM
• Conduct assessments to define and analyze possible risks and evaluate the gravity of each risk by considering its consequences
• Design processes to eliminate or mitigate potential risks
• Develop risk management controls and contingency plans
• Provides first level response to unexpected/urgent issues by applying judgement, analytical and decision-making skills to determine appropriate course of action
• Monitor and respond to inquiries and to ensure timely communication with all stakeholders as well as facilitating resolution of complex and sensitive situations or precedent setting to satisfy needs
• Work in conjunction with the Director, Enterprise Risk Management to develop ERM program outcome indicators and utilize metrics to assess and drive performance, ensuring objectives are met
• Acts as a resource to the organization in preparation for accreditation process/assessment in Enterprise Risk Management

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:

Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements
Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 4 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.

• Bachelor’s degree in risk management, Public Administration, Finance, Law, Security or a related field (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript)
• 3 to 5 years of experience in risk management, loss control, compliance, operational risk ideally within healthcare, community care or social services.
• Access to a vehicle required for personal transportation
• Current, satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
• Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly

We prefer the following qualifications:

• Canadian Risk Management (CRM), Risk and Insurance Management Society (RIMS), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) Certifications
