Superintendent – Concrete Formwork & Structural Concrete

Location: Colwood, BC (Vancouver Island)

MatchBox Consulting Group is recruiting on behalf of a respected construction company seeking a Superintendent to lead field operations on a commercial concrete project in the Greater Victoria area.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced construction professional with a strong background in concrete formwork who enjoys taking ownership, building strong working relationships, and keeping projects moving efficiently. The successful candidate will play a key role in coordinating site activities, driving productivity, and ensuring work is completed safely and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily site operations and coordinate project activities.
• Manage labour, subcontractors, equipment, and material deliveries.
• Coordinate site logistics, scheduling, and upcoming project milestones.
• Work closely with project teams, trade partners, consultants, and site leadership.
• Review construction drawings and ensure work is executed according to project requirements.
• Coordinate inspections, concrete pours, and critical construction activities.
• Monitor project progress, quality, and productivity.
• Maintain accurate site records, reports, and documentation.
• Identify potential issues early and implement practical solutions to keep work on track.
• Participate in project meetings and contribute to short-term planning and forecasting.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Superintendent experience on commercial concrete or formwork projects.
• Strong knowledge of structural concrete construction and site operations.
• Experience coordinating with General Contractors and multiple project stakeholders.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage site activities while collaborating with the broader project team.
• Self-starter who is proactive, accountable, and comfortable taking initiative.
• Relationship-focused leader with a practical, solution-oriented mindset.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and project success.
