Assistant Project Manager
$60k - $85k per yearDrake International
The Assistant Project Manager role is designed to support current construction project teams in the short term while developing into a future project leader .
You will work closely with Project Managers and Site Superintendents to:
- Keep projects organized and on schedule
- Improve communication and execution flow
- Gradually take on increasing ownership of project scopes, budgets, and coordination

- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday (standard construction management hours)
- Work Model: Primarily onsite
What You’ll Do
Project Coordination
- Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination of ICI construction projects
- Prepare and track RFIs, submittals, change orders, meeting minutes, and documentation
- Maintain project schedules, logs, and document control systems (Procore or equivalent)
- Coordinate communication between clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Assist with procurement, tendering, and subcontract administration
- Support cost tracking, invoice review, and budget updates
- Attend site meetings and track action items to completion
- Assist with project closeout and turnover documentation
Assistant Project Management
- Take ownership of smaller scopes or phases of projects
- Assist in schedule tracking and milestone management
- Support trade coordination and issue resolution on active sites
- Participate in cost monitoring, change management, and forecasting
- Begin leading coordination meetings and progress updates
- Act as a secondary point of contact for stakeholders
What We’re Looking For
- 1–5 years of experience in construction project coordination, project administration, or junior project management (ICI preferred)
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering Technology, Architecture, or a related field
- Strong organizational and time management skills in a multi-project environment
- Clear communicator with ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders
- Experience handling RFI's and change orders
- Exposure to budgeting, scheduling, or subcontract coordination is a strong asset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project considered assets
- Valid driver’s license
