As Outside Sanitation you will be responsible for maintaining the mill premises in a sanitary condition. You will also be responsible for cleaning rail cars safely and efficiently while adhering to company and customer requirements. This position is a 5-month term running approximately from November - March Duties & Responsibilities:Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary facility by completing tasks outlined in the Master Sanitation Schedule.
Perform equipment and structural cleaning to support food safety, HACCP, and regulatory compliance.
Clean railcars safely and efficiently while meeting company and customer standards.
Perform regular inspections on tracks, switch and crossings to ensure smooth operations and avoid operational delays
Responsible for timely removal of snow, ice and debris on tracks, yard, switches and crossings
Avoid snow and ice accumulation in switches and tracks which could create delays and safety risks
Inspect, apply, document, and verify vessel seals.
Operate rail equipment, including assisting with switching operations, coupling and uncoupling railcars, and moving railcars using specialized equipment.
Operate a variety of powered equipment including tractors, skid steers, forklifts, aerial lifts, loaders, sweepers, snow removal equipment, and other mobile equipment. Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent
Experience operating powered mobile equipment.
Ability to obtain required certifications and licenses related to rail operations and equipment.
Must be comfortable working in an environment with exposure to weather extremes, including extreme cold and heavy snow.
