The Role:
The Senior Learning & Development Specialist will own the end to end creation and delivery of MDA Space's large scale, blended training programs-partnering with SMEs to design curricula, scripts, and storyboards; translating business needs into instructor led sessions, e learning, simulations, videos, job aids and AI enhanced just in time resources; managing external vendors; setting up learning environments; and overseeing onboarding. In addition, the role will handle L&D operational duties such as program scheduling, logistics, material distribution, LMS administration, and continuous improvement of the LMS through requirements gathering, testing and configuration.
Key Responsibilities:
Learning & Development Programs (70%)
- Lead the design, development, and implementation of large-scale formal training programs across all business functions. Partner with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to map out complex curriculum paths, narrative scripts, and storyboards.
- Translate business requirements and learning objectives to build engaging, high-quality, multi-approach blended learning solutions including instructor-led sessions, e-learning, interactive digital assets, simulations, video content, hands-on activities and job-aids.
- Leverages latest technology (ie. generative AI tools or eLearning creator platforms such as Articulate) to provide just-in-time learning resources and experience to our MDA Space audience.
- Build and analyzes dashboards utilizing feedback and data from learning programs and initiatives to measure and report on program effectiveness and make continuous enhancements.
- Collaborates with business leaders, HRBPs, to develop learning plans and employee messaging to support the rollout of global learning programs.
- Project manage outsourced learning solution providers to deliver on key company-wide training programs.
- Sets up the learning environments required for training
- Manage onboarding program, delivering training sessions and support to new employees
Learning & Development Processes (30%)
- Manage activities for new and existing programs including scheduling, logistics, deployment of program materials, feedback gathering, and maintain the learning program library.
- Respond to general inquiries regarding learning program offerings and processes.
- Develop user training materials and resources to targeted Learning Management System (LMS) administrators and provide ongoing guidance as the subject-matter-expert.
- Lead future enhancements of the Learning Management System (LMS) including defining requirements, testing, streamlining configuration and implementation along with researching and resolving issues that arise and recommending solutions or alternate methods to meet business requirements.
Job Requirements:
- The ideal incumbent will have 8+ years of experience working in Learning & Development, Talent or/ Organizational Development (OD).
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or other relevant subject or equivalent experience.
- Proven facilitation experience and strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using eLearning authoring and multimedia tools to build interactive digital content from established business requirements.
- Solid expertise with MS Office Suite (with advanced skills in PowerPoint and Excel).
- Effective organizational and planning skills including establishing and implementing project plans for L&D projects and track against milestones.
- Proven experience in configuring and working with Learning Management Systems - experience with an HR Management System such as UKG is an asset.
- Adept at using generative AI tools to accelerate content creation and streamline administrative workflows.
- Excellent analytical, written and interpersonal skills.
- Effective at multi-tasking and prioritizing competing deadlines with a proven ability to adapt quickly in dynamic/changing environments.
- Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to work autonomously while also effectively collaborating with peers and stakeholders.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on delivering accurate, high-quality work; ensures all learning content and data reports are at the highest standard of quality.
- Project management, Change Management and Vendor Management experience (ie. managing outsourced learning program providers), an asset.
- Bilingual in French and English, both written and spoken, as asset
Special Considerations:
Successful candidates must obtain and hold security clearance at the Reliability status level, and pass security assessment for the Controlled Goods Program (CGP), and be able to obtain higher clearances.

- Exploiter les technologies de pointe (p. ex., les outils d'IA générative ou les plateformes de création de formations en ligne telles qu'Articulate) afin de fournir des ressources et une expérience d'apprentissage juste-à-temps à notre public MDA Space.
- Créer et analyser des tableaux de bord à partir de la rétroaction et des données issues des programmes et initiatives de formation afin de mesurer et de rendre compte de l'efficacité des programmes et d'apporter des améliorations continues.

- Gérer les activités liées aux programmes nouveaux et actuels, notamment la planification, la logistique, la mise à disposition des supports de formation, la collecte des rétroactions, et tenir à jour la bibliothèque des programmes de formation.
- Répondre aux demandes générales concernant l'offre et les processus des programmes de formation.
- Élaborer du matériel et des ressources de formation destinés aux administrateurs du système de gestion de l'apprentissage (SGA) et fournir des conseils continus à titre d'expert en la matière.
- Diriger les améliorations futures du système de gestion de l'apprentissage (SGA), notamment en définissant les exigences, en effectuant des essais, en rationalisant la configuration et la mise en uvre, ainsi qu'en identifiant et en réglant les problèmes qui surviennent et en recommandant des solutions ou des méthodes alternatives pour répondre aux besoins de l'entreprise.
Exigences du poste :
- Le candidat idéal aura plus de huit (8) ans d'expérience dans les domaines de la formation et du perfectionnement, de la gestion des talents ou du développement organisationnel (DO).

Baccalauréat en ressources humaines, en administration des affaires ou autre matière pertinente ou expérience équivalente.
- Une expérience avérée en animation et d'excellentes compétences relationnelles.
- Une maîtrise des outils de création de formations en ligne et des outils multimédias permettant d'élaborer des contenus numériques interactifs à partir d'exigences opérationnelles établies.
- Une connaissance approfondie de la suite MS Office (avec des compétences avancées en PowerPoint et en Excel).
- Excellentes compétences en matière d'organisation et de planification, notamment pour l'élaboration et la mise en uvre de plans de projet dans le domaine de la formation et du perfectionnement, ainsi que pour le suivi des étapes clés.
- Expérience avérée dans la configuration et l'utilisation de systèmes de gestion de la formation; une expérience avec un système de gestion des ressources humaines tel que UKG est un atout.
- Maîtrise des outils d'IA générative pour accélérer la création de contenu et rationaliser les processus administratifs.
- Excellentes compétences analytiques, rédactionnelles et relationnelles.
- Excellente capacité à accomplir plusieurs tâches simultanément et à hiérarchiser les échéances concurrentes, avec une aptitude avérée à s'adapter rapidement à des environnements dynamiques et en constante évolution.
- Esprit d'initiative et capacité avérée à travailler de manière autonome tout en collaborant efficacement avec ses collègues et les intervenants.
- Grand souci du détail et volonté de fournir un travail précis et de grande qualité; veille à ce que tous les contenus de formation et rapports de données répondent aux normes de qualité les plus élevées.
- Une expérience en gestion de projet, en gestion du changement et en gestion des fournisseurs (c'est-à-dire la gestion de prestataires de programmes de formation externalisés) est un atout.
- La maîtrise du français et de l'anglais, à l'écrit comme à l'oral, est un atout.
