Job Title: Clerk 1/Receptionist (ADM02)
Location: Truro, Nova Scotia
Position Overview
We are seeking a professional and customer-focused Clerk 1/Receptionist to support daily front-office operations in a busy client-facing environment. This role serves as one of the first points of contact for clients, staff, and visitors, requiring excellent communication, organizational, and administrative skills.
The successful candidate will perform a variety of standardized clerical and reception duties with a strong emphasis on accuracy, professionalism, and customer service under direct supervision.
Requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Greet clients, visitors, and staff in a professional and courteous manner
- Answer and direct incoming phone calls and walk-in inquiries
- Operate a multi-line switchboard/telephone system
- Provide front-desk reception and administrative support
- Prepare, type, and file correspondence and office documents
- Maintain organized filing systems and records
- Assist with application processing and related documentation
- Order office supplies and maintain inventory for office equipment
- Distribute and deliver inter-office mail
- Support general clerical and administrative tasks as required
Qualifications & Requirements
- Grade XI education plus related clerical/reception experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and general office equipment
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidentiality
