We are currently seeking a Software Development Co-Op to join a development team that is building power conversion devices and industrial switches for our Solar and Storage business unit. The successful candidate will work in a cross-functional product development environment of electrical, mechanical, manufacturing, system test, and other software teams.

The position offered is for a minimum of 8-month placement.

What will you do?

• Work within a scrum team to design, implement and test software for power converters, communication devices and industrial
• Work closely with cross-functional engineering teams to refine, support. and deliver software.
• Work on embedded software framework, automated test environment, and custom development tools.

Qualifications: What qualifications will make you successful?

• Background in Software Engineering
• C/C++ programming language
• Python or other scripting language
• Familiarity with:
  • Linux programming
  • Writing/debugging software
  • UML diagrams for Sequence, Hierarchical State Machines, and Data Flow.
  • Read schematics and microelectronic device datasheets.
  • Basic Linux and Windows networking concepts.
  • Embedded Linux
• Test Plan creation and unit test environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to excel in a team oriented, project-based work environment
• A systematic and logical approach to problem solving
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and work to tight deadlines to meet project needs

The base pay compensation for this full-time position is starting at CAD19.5 per hour for candidates who are B.C. residents. Schneider Electric also offers our employees on fixed-term employment holidays and paid time off.
