About You / What We Are Looking For
Are you passionate about gardening and excited about working with community volunteers to bring Coquitlam Parks alive? Do you enjoy working with volunteers and creating hands-on opportunities for the community to connect with gardens and green spaces? If so, this position is for you! We are currently looking for two Regular Full Time Parks Partner Program Coordinators to join our ever growing Parks and Capital Projects team.

As the Parks Partner Program Coordinator, you will coordinate and deliver a variety of community gardening and park engagement programs and projects. This will include developing program content and materials, coordinating schedules and activities with staff and external partners, and monitoring and evaluating programs to ensure they meet community needs. You will recruit, orient and support volunteers who assist with gardening and park engagement projects, while building strong relationships with internal staff, community partners and the public.

As well, you will perform a multitude of parks maintenance tasks, including gardening, and maintenance duties using a variety of tools such as power mowers, cultivators, leaf blowers and power saw. You will ensure proper upkeep of floral, lawn and related areas in Coquitlam parks.

Qualifications

• High school diploma supplemented by completion of a horticulture certificate or diploma.
• At least three years of experience in general parks maintenance and gardening work and volunteer coordination. Please note that an equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered.
• Ability to work non-standard hours including afternoon, evening and weekend work.
• Driver’s License for the province of BC.

What We Offer:
This CUPE position has an hourly rate of $38.45. The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
