Interim Regional Credit Manager

Job Responsibility:

Our client is a coast-to-coast heavy duty vehicle parts and service network. They are currently looking for an Interim Regional Credit Manager for 3-5 days per week over a 6 month term. This is a hybrid role with regular visits required to their Dartmouth office.

The Regional Credit Manager is responsible for overseeing the credit operations within a designated region. This role involves managing the credit assessment process, mitigating credit risk, and ensuring compliance with credit policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in credit management, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to lead a team effectively. The Credit Manager has a breadth of responsibility across multiple branches and provinces, and operates in a high-pressure, sales-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and approve credit applications based on company policies and risk assessment criteria.
• Review financial statements, credit reports and other relevant information to determine creditworthiness.
• Set credit limits and terms for new and existing customers.
• Monitor and manage the credit risk portfolio to minimize potential losses.
• Develop and implement strategies to mitigate credit risk, including setting appropriate credit limits and terms.
• Conduct regular credit reviews and audits to ensure compliance with credit policies and procedures.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of account receivable clerks.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers and stakeholders.
• Address and resolve customer disputes and inquiries related to credit issues.
• Work closely with the VP of Sales, VP of Service and Regional Managers to support business growth while managing credit risk.
• Prepare and present regular reports on credit performance, including key metrics and trends.
• Conduct in-depth analysis of credit data to identify potential risks and opportunities for improvement.
• Provide insights and recommendations to senior management based on analysis.
• Ensure adherence to company credit policies and procedures.
• Stay up to date with industry best practices, regulatory requirements, and market trends.
• Implement and enforce compliance with legal and regulatory standards related to credit management.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in credit management, with at least 5 years in a decision making capacity in credit management.
• Strong knowledge of credit analysis, risk assessment, and financial statement analysis.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Proficiency in credit management software and financial analysis tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Demonstration of professionalism, discretion and a high level of organization skills will be essential to succeed in this position.

Job Types: Part-time, Fixed term contractContract length: 6 months

Pay: $81,705.00-$87,115.00 per year

Expected hours: 24 - 40 per week
