Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
• Accomplishes assigned operational goals by communicating job expectations; planning & coordinating manufacturing activities with assigned work cells, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, accountability & disciplining employees; ensuring conformance to quality management system; training and mentoring employees; identify and manage risks & opportunities
• Responsible for the efficient coordination of work cells, management of provided resources to achieve established goals & objectives; goals & objectives are clearly communicated & understood on the production floor, work cells have the required tools and trained labour to perform, work cells have the material and proper equipment to safely fabricate material.
• Manage gaps in performance & develop counter measures.
• Maintain a safe work environment by educating and directing employees on the use of equipment and tools, processes, and procedures.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed/directed.
• Provide training, support, and leadership guidance to Lead Hands.
• Ensure accountability of Lead Hands, machine operators and production staff to meet safety, quality, and operational targets as well as company policies, procedures, values and code of conduct.
• Communicate cross-functionally regarding equipment failures and quality concerns.
• Initiate, propose, or provide solutions related to potential process improvements to reduce or eliminate the generation of waste, the handling or disposal of waste through reclamation and/or recycling of material.

Qualifications:

• Ability to work various shifts including nights and weekends.
• Requires general computer skills and must be proficient in the use of MS Office, email, can source information from the internet and internal databases and learn new software programs.
• Prior machine operation experience
• Health & Safety awareness and prevention
• Works in collaboration with the hourly workers and Production Manager
• Ability to provide balanced approach to resolving employee conflicts.
• Ability to read drawings and use tape measures and various measurement tools.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, meet timelines along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Prior supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment will be an asset.
• Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, SharePoint ERP, etc.).
• Demonstrated commitment to professional development.
• Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal; organizational and time management skills.
• Strong ability to provide positive and constructive feedback.
