We are a professional family in Victoria looking for a warm, attentive and proactive nanny to care for our newborn. This is a full-time, live-out position starting in September 2026 and expected to continue until approximately July 2027. We are hoping to find someone who genuinely enjoys caring for babies and takes a responsive, child-led approach. For us, good infant care is not just about following a fixed schedule, but about noticing cues, understanding changing needs, and adapting the day accordingly. We value open communication and would love to welcome a nanny who sees childcare as a collaborative relationship with parents. The person who will fit best with our family is affectionate, observant, energetic, dependable and comfortable using good judgment while also respecting our parenting preferences. You should be comfortable with parents sometimes being at home during the workday and flexible when occasional changes to the schedule are needed. Main responsibilities:

• Provide attentive daily care for one newborn
• Bottle feeding, diapering, bathing, dressing, hygiene and sleep support
• Prepare age-appropriate meals and snacks as solids are introduced
• Clean bottles, feeding equipment and children’s dishes
• Do children’s laundry and help maintain bedding and supplies
• Keep the nursery and children’s areas tidy and organized
• Plan age-appropriate play and activities
• Read, sing, talk and actively engage with the baby throughout the day
• Take the child on walks, outdoor time, classes or outings as appropriate
• Transport the child safely using a properly installed car seat
• Keep us informed about naps, feeding, mood, activities and important events

When the baby is sleeping and childcare duties are complete, we would also appreciate help with light household support, including:

• General tidying of common areas and the nursery
• Light housekeeping
• Light vacuuming in high-use areas
• Loading and unloading the dishwasher
• Keeping kitchen surfaces tidy
• Household towels and bedding
• Limited parent laundry
• Garbage, recycling and compost
• Diaper pail maintenance
• Watering indoor plants
• Basic pet care/litter box care
• Grocery shopping and occasional household errands
• Cooking and preparing meals for the children

Requirements:

• At least 3 years of professional childcare experience
• Strong hands-on experience with newborns and infants
• Strong references from 2–3 previous childcare employers
• Valid driver’s licence
• Reliable personal vehicle and willingness to use your own car for work
• Current criminal record check
• Current Emergency Child Care First Aid/CPR certification
• Legal authorization to work in Canada
• Comfortable working in a home with pets

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• Usually 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
• 35 to 40 hours per week

We offer a predictable core weekday schedule, though occasional evening or weekend support may sometimes be requested with reasonable notice. Some flexibility in how hours are distributed is important. Compensation:

• $28 to $33 per hour gross, depending on experience and qualifications
• Paid time off, scheduled to coincide with a family holiday
