Employment: Long-Term Contract
Travel: Extensive Travel Required to Sweden and Ohio
Pay: $81-$84
Insight Global is looking for a technical and customer-facing lead for Phase 1 execution in Cambridge and Sweden. The Controls Lead is responsible for owning system understanding end-to-end, supporting remote installations, and acting as the primary technical interface with the customer during staggered phases of the program. This individual will transition into a long‑term leadership role across subsequent phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as lead for Phase 1 integration activities in Cambridge
- Own system-level understanding across PLCs, robotics, and vision systems
- Lead and support remote installation activities in Sweden
- Serve as the on‑site technical lead during installation and post‑install support
- Work independently with the customer to troubleshoot, triage, and resolve issues
- Provide hands‑on support and system knowledge transfer during the extended support window
- Support remote software design and troubleshooting for Phase 2
- Collaborate with integration teams during later project phases
- Assist with coordination between CAPEX teams, integration teams, and customer stakeholders
- Help stabilize support gaps during the lag between integration and installation
Technology Scope
- Siemens TIA Portal (PLC)
- ABB Industrial Robots
- Cognex Vision Systems (Depth in all three is not required, but robust system‑level understanding is expected)
Required Skills and Experience
- Eligible for 10 CFR 810 clearance
- Willing to travel between Sweden, Canada and potentially US
- Experience as a machine builder, owning large-scale automation systems end-to-end OR 15+ years in an automation environment with leadership experience
- Proven track record leading automation projects through remote installations
- Experience designing systems from scratch
- Comfortable acting as a senior technical authority with customers
- Able to lead teams and coordinate multi-discipline workstreams
- Strong troubleshooting and integration experience across complex systems
