Job Summary
We are looking for a Journeyperson Electrician to join our growing team at Vertex Solar. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing solar electric systems , EV chargers , and battery storage systems on residential and commercial properties throughout Calgary and surrounding areas. This role requires a self-motivated individual who is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and passionate about renewable energy.
Key Responsibilities
- Travel independently to job sites to perform electrical installations.
- Install solar PV systems, EV chargers, and battery storage units according to design specifications.
- Ensure safety compliance on all sites, including the proper use of PPE and fall protection equipment.
- Lead high-quality installations and conduct final system checks to confirm functionality.
- Provide professional and courteous service to customers and answer basic technical questions.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, drawings, and schematics.
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain existing electrical systems.
- Recommend efficient solutions for new electrical installations based on site conditions.
- Follow all Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) regulations, including OSHA guidelines.
Qualifications & Certifications
Required:
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License (clean driving record).
- Journeyperson Electrician Certification (Alberta or Red Seal equivalent).
- Proven experience in residential and/or commercial electrical work.
- Strong understanding of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and safety standards.
- Excellent troubleshooting and communication skills.
Certifications (Required or Willing to Obtain):
- Fall Protection
- Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWP)
- CPR / First Aid AED
- Ladder Safety
- Working at Heights (CSTS 2020)
- Confined Space Awareness (CSTS 2020)
- Construction Safety Training System (CSTS 2020)
- WHMIS 2015 Worker Education (CSTS 2020)
