Job Responsibility:
Position Description: We are seeking an experienced Payroll Lead with North American payroll experience to join our team in a confidential capacity. This role will serve as a key contributor to payroll operations, providing leadership, guidance, and expertise to ensure compliance and efficiency across all payroll activities. The successful candidate will have hands-on payroll experience, supervisory experience, and experience managing unionized payroll environments, with a strong understanding of payroll systems, preferably Dayforce. Responsibilities: - Lead and supervise a small payroll team (1-2 direct reports).
- Serve as backup for payroll operations, including processing and journal entries for all payrolls.
- Advise payroll administrators and support teams on processes and best practices.
- Manage payroll audits (internal and external) and ensure accurate reporting.
- Oversee payroll accruals, including vacation, and perform year-end reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements including Year-End filings and Workers Compensation.
- Manage payroll for unionized employees, ensuring collective agreement compliance.
- Support system-related initiatives, including understanding and optimizing payroll systems (Dayforce preferred).
- Assist with payroll-related projects and continuous process improvement.
- Travel occasionally as required.
Qualifications: - 5+ years of payroll experience, preferably in North America.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
- Experience managing payroll in a unionized environment.
- Strong knowledge of Quebec payroll, compliance, and legislation
- Strong understanding of payroll compliance, year-end processes, reconciliations, and filings.
- Experience with payroll systems; Dayforce is preferred.
- Solid analytical, problem-solving, and attention-to-detail skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills; confident and able to provide guidance to teams.
- Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.

- Adaptable and willing to travel occasionally.
