Salary : C/TFN Wage Scale Level 10 ($57.32-$72.52p/hr)

This posting is to fill one (1) permanent full-time position. This is a two-week posting and is scheduled to close on June 30 th , 2026. Your Role

The Land Claims Advisor culturally grounded strategic advice on land use, negotiations, and stewardship matters to ensure decisions reflect C/TFN values, traditions, and long-term vision. The role supports consultation processes, negotiations, and land management activities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Strategic & Cultural Advisory

• Provide advice on land use proposals and consultation processes
• Support negotiations with territorial and federal governments
• Ensure alignment with Final Agreement and Self-Government Agreement
• Offer guidance grounded in traditional land use knowledge

Impact Assessment & Stewardship

• Review proposed developments for impacts on traditional territory
• Support integration of traditional knowledge into land management and environmental monitoring
• Provide recommendations to Land Management Board

Mentorship & Engagement

• Mentor staff and Citizens on governance and land stewardship
• Attend meetings as requested

Leadership of Others

• Provides mentorship and cultural guidance to staff and community members
• Serves as a senior knowledge resource in negotiations and land stewardship

Essential Qualifications

• Equivalent combination of lived experience, traditional knowledge, and formal education will be considered
• Experience advising on land claims or negotiations
• Experience participating in consultation processes

Desired Knowledge, Skills, & Suitability

• Deep knowledge of C/TFN Traditional territory and protocols
• Knowledge of Final and Self-Government Agreements
• Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with governments and advisors
• Ability to travel within Yukon

Conditions of Employment

• Valid Class 5 driver’s license
• Current drivers abstract
