As a Software Developer in our Build and Automation team, you will help shape and enhance the automation strategy at Maxon, be it CI pipelines, Build Systems and their optimization, Test Automation or Tooling. This is a chance to support Maxon’s leading software in the 3D space, while working with industry experts in a team of passionate and diverse collaborators: our north stars are performance, stability and providing the best user experience to our developers, QAs and collaborators.

What You Will Be Doing

• Design, develop and optimize our CI pipelines for Maxon’s products, using Python and C++
• Maintain and stabilize automation workflows
• Enhance your colleagues’ visibility and usability of automation, from performance improvements to better visualization of data
• Explore solutions to bring Maxon’s automation to the bleeding edge of technology
• Partner with fellow developers, QAs, SDMs and product managers to assess and develop optimal solutions
• Unify tool usage across the company, smoothing out friction and improving convenience and generalization
• Contribute to the team culture by reviewing and suggesting solutions, empowering your peers and advocating in favor of automation

What We Are Looking For

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or equivalent
• Experience in building CI pipelines and automated workflows, preferably using Gitlab CI
• Proficiency in Python, with a focus on platform-specific interactions
• Good understanding of C++ and its development toolchain, including CMake; deeper knowledge of compilers and code building optimizations (i. e. Buildcache) is a plus
• Comfort working on MacOS, Windows and Linux environments, including their platform-specific scripting (bash, PowerShell) and configurations
• Knowledge of Docker and containerization
• Working experience of at least one cloud provider and its APIs, preferably MS Azure
• Understanding of graphic pipelines and image manipulation and a passion for the 3D industry are appreciated but not mandatory
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Hunger for performance improvements and continuous optimization
• Ability to interact with a varied group of colleagues, with diverse cultures and technical understanding across multiple time zones
• Very good English language skills, both written and spoken, as this role involves close collaboration with international teams, cross-regional stakeholders across multiple time zones

Salary Range*

CAD 100,000 – 130,000 annually

Vos Missions

• Concevoir, développer et optimiser nos pipelines CI pour les produits Maxon, en utilisant Python et C++

• Améliorer la visibilité et l’ergonomie de l’automatisation pour vos collègues, depuis des optimisations de performance jusqu’à une meilleure visualisation des données
• Explorer des solutions afin de porter l’automatisation de Maxon à la pointe de la technologie
• Collaborer avec les développeurs, QAs, SDMs et chefs de produit pour évaluer et développer les meilleures solutions
• Unifier l’utilisation des outils dans toute l’entreprise, réduire les frictions et améliorer la convivialité et la généralisation des procédures
• Contribuer à la culture de l’équipe en examinant et proposant des solutions, en responsabilisant vos pairs et en défendant l’automatisation

Profil Recherché

• Licence ou Master en informatique, ingénierie logicielle ou équivalent
• Expérience dans la création de pipelines CI et de workflows automatisés, de préférence avec GitLab CI
• Maîtrise de Python, avec un focus sur les interactions spécifiques aux plateformes
• Bonne connaissance de C++ et de sa chaîne d’outils de développement, incluant CMake ; une expertise plus approfondie sur les compilateurs et les optimisations de compilation (ex : Buildcache) constitue un plus
• À l’aise sur les environnements macOS, Windows et Linux, y compris leurs scripts spécifiques (bash, PowerShell) et configurations
• Connaissance de Docker et de la conteneurisation
• Expérience avec au moins un fournisseur cloud et ses API, de préférence Microsoft Azure
• Compréhension des pipelines graphiques et de la manipulation d’images, ainsi qu’une passion pour l’industrie 3D (appréciée mais non obligatoire)
• Excellentes compétences en résolution de problèmes et sens du détail
• Motivation pour les améliorations de performance et l’optimisation continue
• Capacité à interagir avec une diversité de collègues aux cultures et niveaux techniques variés, à travers plusieurs fuseaux horaires
