We're looking for a Category Manager (12 Month Contract) to work across Casper Canada, Endy, and Hush, three incredible and growing brands, working closely with our central Sourcing and Merchandising teams. This pivotal role will ensure our customer offering is differentiated, both core and on trend, and best in class!
Casper Canada believes everyone should sleep better. The company has a full portfolio of obsessively engineered sleep products - including mattresses, pillows, bedding, and furniture. In addition to its e-commerce business, Casper Canada has 6 Sleep Shops across the country and its products are available at a growing list of retailers. The newest addition to Sleep Country Canada's industry leading sleep brands, Casper Canada is continuing to grow its fantastic brand across the country.
Endy is the market leader and the first Canadian made mattress in a box. We offer the best value with high quality mattresses at accessible prices, as well as a curated thoughtful collection of beds and accessories to bring the comfort we are known for into the full bedroom. Hush is a true Canadian company that was founded in 2017 with one product offering, the Classic Weighted Blanket and has since grown to offer several products. In this current open role you will:
- Develop and lead the Accessories category strategy / product roadmap across all channels for the brands
- Analyze sales and profitability to be able to make business recommendations related to inventory and promotional activity
- Identify opportunities for category expansion - assortment selection, flow, life cycle and distribution across multiple channels
- Create clear timelines and objectives, assume project management responsibilities for ensuring deliverables, oversee cross-functional communication and sign off
- Partner and develop strong collaborative relationships with various internal stakeholders such as Sourcing, Merchandising, Supply Chain, Logistics, Real Estate (store design and renovations), Marketing (product marketing plan across all channels) as well as external existing and new external stakeholders (vendors)
- Prepare financial analysis and make recommendations in order to maximize sales and profit
- Liaise with various business partner on product branding and packaging which includes creation, artwork, audits and compliance
- Responsible for any new product roll-outs including cross-functional communication, store support and signoffs
- Create processes and tools that enable the work to flow efficiently and effectively
The Qualifications and Experience we like to see:
- University or College degree in Category Management/Merchandising, Business or related discipline
- 3-5 years' experience in retail office environment with focus on merchandising, category management, fashion/apparel or accessories business; online/DTC experience would be an asset
- Experience with direct sourcing, marketing campaigns and in-store visual presentations is an asset
- Ability to work collaboratively and effectively with both internal and external stakeholders as well as build and develop strong partnerships
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, organizational, relationship-building, negotiation, analytical, presentation and project management skills
- Manage multiple and competing priorities in a fast pace work environment
- Business savvy and up to date on current market and industry trends
- High level of proficiency managing data through technology
- Bilingual English and French is an asset
- Strong communication skills
- Travel to our 3 office locations: Downtown Toronto: 60 Adelaide Street East, Brampton: 7920 Airport Road, Midtown Toronto: 250 Bowie Avenue
- Must be able to travel with a valid Canadian passport
